About The Position

The Account Specialist position is responsible for opening new accounts and delivering quality customer service to current and potential customers. Employees in this position must demonstrate thorough knowledge of all bank products and services. The Account Specialist must possess excellent customer service skills, a positive attitude, good communication skills and a strong work ethic.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good organizational, relational and communication skills
  • Detail oriented, quality focused, flexible & able to adapt to change
  • Proficient computer skills relevant to Outlook, Word & Excel

Nice To Haves

  • Banking experience is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Emulate SSB&T Core Values
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of all products and services offered
  • Open and prepare documents for all new and revised accounts
  • Review of all documents and accounts for completeness
  • Maintenance accounts with updated information and corrections
  • Document scanning
  • Close accounts
  • Assist customers with questions and issues
  • Accept and process wire transfers
  • Prepare paperwork on fraudulent activity as necessary
  • Conduct PIN changes, increase limits and issue debit cards
  • Assist customers with Electronic Banking
  • Accept and process stop payments
  • Safe deposit duties
  • Process check orders
  • Reconcile and prepare reports
  • Prepare account letters
  • Provide Notary Services
  • Dormant account releases
  • Other miscellaneous customer service
  • Other duties as assigned
