The Staff Accountant position at PTI Technologies focuses primarily on managing Accounts Receivable transactions to enhance financial efficiency within the aerospace sector. This vital role involves daily customer invoicing and processing cash receipts, ensuring compliance with our financial policies. Responsibilities include reconciling payments and customer accounts, communicating discrepancies to management, and identifying slow-paying clients. You will interact directly with customers regarding past-due accounts, which is essential for strengthening client relationships. Key tasks include processing cash postings, reconciling daily cash with bank totals, overseeing auto invoicing, and preparing monthly journal entries related to accrued commissions and royalties. Additionally, you will back up the Credit Supervisor by evaluating creditworthiness and monitoring collections to mitigate bad debt risks. This position not only requires attention to detail but also offers the opportunity to significantly impact the company's financial health and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • A minimum of three to five years of general accounting experience is essential
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary, along with a detail-oriented approach to financial accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and data analysis, is required
  • effective communication skills, capable of conveying complex financial information clearly to cross-functional stakeholders
  • A solid understanding of cost accounting principles, GAAP, and inventory valuation
  • adaptability to various work environments, including both office and manufacturing settings, while ensuring safety and compliance at all times

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Oracle and financial applications is preferred
  • Experience in an aerospace or government contracting environment, as well as support during internal and external audits, will be advantageous
