About The Position

Adyen provides payments, data, and financial products in a single solution for customers like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft. The Account Management team is crucial for the growth and success of Adyen's business and brand expansion globally. This role involves managing relationships with innovative international merchants across multiple industries and channels, offering opportunities to work on cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with high autonomy. Team members become experts in the global payments landscape and enhance their skills through the AM Academy. Adyen is seeking a proactive and adaptable Enterprise Account Manager for their San Francisco team. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a hands-on mentality, eager to help major brands grow and transform the industry. They should be excited to collaborate with a global, multicultural team, focusing on delivering exceptional customer experiences, identifying new opportunities, and fostering mutual success for Adyen and its clients. This specific role supports a portfolio of Mandarin-speaking enterprise clients, requiring professional fluency in Mandarin (written and spoken) for business discussions, executive communications, and strategic account planning. The candidate should be self-motivated, resourceful, and bring a strategic and commercial approach to the role.

Requirements

  • Enjoy engaging others and developing strong working relationships at all levels of management
  • Passionate about leading strategic payments conversations, presenting business reviews, and coordinating high level technical discussions
  • Skilled in leveraging your business acumen and analytical abilities to strategically assess and help reach client goals
  • Comfortable synthesizing complex data sets and using data to tell a story
  • Excited to prioritize and manage multiple projects across different departments, while motivating and collaborating with others to achieve results
  • You have 5+ years of experience in a client-facing, commercial role—such as account management, consulting, or working in the payments industry from a merchant perspective—with a strong background in complex enterprise software, technical infrastructure, or financial services.
  • Professional fluency in Mandarin (written and spoken) is required to conduct business discussions, executive communications, and strategic account planning.
  • This role is based out of our San Francisco office. We have a hybrid workplace and value in-person collaboration; we do not offer remote-only roles.
  • You have full professional written and verbal proficiency in English and Mandarin language
  • Some domestic and international travel required

Responsibilities

  • Build strong customer relationships and navigate complex organizations to align the right external and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead client meetings and executive discussions in both English and Mandarin.
  • Develop a global network within Adyen and collaborate effectively across cultures and time zones.
  • Drive commercial discussions with customers in English and Mandarin, while meeting strategic and financial targets for assigned accounts.
  • Act as the human dimension of Adyen’s product, delivering expertise, education, and payment guidance to customers.
  • Position Adyen as a trusted partner and use data to tell compelling stories that resonate across diverse markets.
  • Prioritize and execute short- and long-term initiatives across multiple enterprise accounts, ensuring alignment across global stakeholders.
  • Be the voice and champion for your customers internally, serving as a critical feedback loop between clients and cross-functional teams.
