The Account Manager (AM) is responsible for driving sales growth and managing key accounts for Yokogawa’s Industrial Automation Products for Flow and Pressure. This role combines technical expertise with a strong sales focus, ensuring that assigned representatives and customers in the territory receive the support, strategy, and leadership needed to achieve aggressive growth targets. The AM will develop and execute strategic territory plans, forecast and manage opportunities through CRM, and lead account planning with representatives to maximize revenue and market share. Success in this position requires a balance of hands-on customer engagement, rep enablement, and disciplined sales execution. Region to be covered is the Western USA. The position can be remote, based in any major metropolitan area within the region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in technical sales, account management, or field applications within industrial automation or instrumentation.
  • Proven ability to drive sales growth and manage a territory quota.
  • Strong account planning, forecasting, and CRM discipline.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; effective at delivering professional presentations.
  • Strong technical aptitude with Pressure and Flow instrumentation products.
  • Highly self-motivated, organized, and results-oriented.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate independent sales representatives.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel 50% or more.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • ISIP eligible.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve or exceed assigned territory sales quota for Flow and Pressure products.
  • Identify, pursue, and close new customer opportunities within the region.
  • Manage and grow key strategic accounts, driving increased adoption of Yokogawa products and solutions.
  • Develop and maintain a territory business plan that includes key accounts, growth targets, and rep performance objectives.
  • Conduct opportunity forecasting in CRM and maintain accurate pipeline visibility.
  • Manage customer PCA/D1 (discounting) requests to ensure profitable business decisions.
  • Prepare and deliver customer presentations highlighting Yokogawa’s value proposition and technical advantages.
  • Collaborate closely with assigned representative companies, ensuring alignment with Yokogawa goals and strategies.
  • Lead the development of rep business plans, providing guidance, accountability, and performance feedback.
  • Direct representatives to appropriate internal resources or systems for technical and commercial support.
  • Conduct monthly face-to-face meetings (minimum of 10 per month) with customers or representatives to strengthen relationships and identify new opportunities.
  • Provide weekly activity reporting summarizing key actions, opportunities, and territory progress.
  • Serve as the customer advocate, ensuring high satisfaction and responsiveness across all touchpoints.
  • Support pre-sales activities including product demonstrations, application discussions, and solution design.
  • Coordinate with product management and customer support to resolve complex issues and ensure customer success.
  • Maintain strong communication with internal sales, product management, and operations teams to ensure territory alignment.
  • Provide field intelligence and competitive insights to help guide business strategy.
  • Contribute to cross-functional initiatives aimed at improving processes, tools, and customer experience.
