About The Position

Please note: This role can be supported remotely from Western Canada. At Syngenta, we are working to build the most collaborative and trusted team in agriculture that provides leading seeds and crop protection innovations to enhance the prosperity of farmers. To support this challenge, Syngenta is currently seeking an Account Manager in Western Canada. The Account Manager will be responsible for establishing a strategic direction for specific key account customers based in Western Canada. This will be created through fostering strong relationships, account discovery and effective collaboration across different stakeholders.

Requirements

  • A minimum B.Sc. Or a BCom degree.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the agri-business industry or related role.
  • Extensive experience in the Canadian Crop Protection market, preferably in the western market.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in customer-facing roles combined with customer and/or product marketing would be an asset in this position.
  • Excellent business acumen including the ability to conduct financial analysis, perform deep analytics of the account and the ability to translate data insights into meaningful actions.
  • Must be able to think strategically and balance the needs of the account with the needs of Syngenta both in the short and long term through advanced negotiation skills.
  • Must be able to quickly establish professional relationships based on solid business principles and foster excellent interpersonal relationships.
  • Must be able to influence senior leadership within the accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of an account plan that informs the interaction of Syngenta stakeholders with individuals throughout the account.
  • Accountable for achieving annual revenue targets, managing inventory levels and the execution of account-focused initiatives.
  • Will work closely with various people across Syngenta including district sales, commercial operations, product marketing and channel marketing as well as across key decision makers within the accounts.
