About The Position

Are you a sales professional that also loves coffee, tea, refreshers, or other natural beverages? At Finlays Solutions, we’re the brand behind the biggest brands in the beverage category. We’re looking for someone who can use their skills to help position Finlays Solutions as the go-to beverage provider for household recognizable brands. This is a high-initiative, field-driven role for a true hunter who loves opening doors and building new business through relationships. Finlays Solutions is seeking an accomplished Sales Executive with sales experience and contacts in the B2B beverage manufacturing industry. This role is designed for a proactive hunter focused on net-new opportunity creation, white-space expansion, and winning new accounts in retail beverages. Deep, active relationships with flavor houses, private label partners, and beverage brand owners are a key advantage in this role and central to building new business. Responsible for all sales activities from generating leads to closing sales in assigned channels with primary focus on creating sales opportunities in the ready-to-drink beverage markets. Manage all business relationships for assigned and prospective customers, overseeing a growth focused portfolio with a strong emphasis on prospecting, opportunity creation, and expansion. Work closely with Sales Management, Marketing, R&D, Quality, and Customer Service to create and present solutions that address a market or customer need or opportunity. Assure all activities are handled in accordance with Finlays mission, values, ethics and goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or food science and 2 to 4 years professional selling experience in the food & beverage industry OR 4 to 6 years of R&D/technical experience supporting outside sales.
  • Enjoys being in the field and traveling extensively to develop relationships and win new business (up to 50%)
  • Strong presentation, listening, verbal & written communication skills
  • Effective organization and time management skills
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales objectives and quotas
  • Demonstrated hunter mindset: proven ability to source, develop, and close net-new business
  • Strong analytical skills and the capability to track and objectively evaluate effectiveness
  • Outstanding, confident written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter, with demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, and problem solve
  • Excellent active listening and presentation skills
  • Ability to perform effectively under tight deadlines or with multiple projects
  • Proven ability to work with senior team members in client-facing and internal settings
  • Travel and work flexible hours as required.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Represent Finlays Solutions in the market by actively prospecting at industry events, leveraging your network, and building relationships in front of customers
  • Deliver sales strategies in line with the company’s annual revenue & margin plans
  • Utilize your network and selling skills to build a net-new sales pipeline and consistently open doors that deliver growth objectives in both the short and long term
  • Manage and develop customer relationships to achieve account-based sales goals
  • Use and maintain CRM tools daily to prospect strategically, manage prospects, communicate, and deliver against the sales pipeline
  • Build business partnerships with key decision makers at existing and prospective customers
  • Spend significant time in the field meeting customers, traveling to develop relationships, and advancing opportunities face-to-face
  • Contact prospective customers to learn their business and understand their needs
  • Maintain a strong outbound prospecting cadence (calls, outreach, networking, and field activity) to uncover and convert new opportunities
  • Continuous commitment to self-learning through internal tools and resources to upskill. Complete training to be knowledgeable on Finlays product portfolio, beverage industry trends, coffee market, and competition.
  • Using technical, organizational and industry knowledge, offer the best solution to drive growth and increase profitability
  • Create and use a yearly sales account plan with formal objectives assigned to customer base. Present plan and updates at sales meetings.
  • Understand pricing and cost models. Negotiate pricing and contracts.
  • Work cross-functionally to bring the best of R&D, quality, operations, supply chain, and marketing to our customers.
  • Provide guidance on customer forecast into monthly demand planning (S&IOP process)
  • Develop & maintain communications with internal departments and stakeholders to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Update job knowledge by reading industry publications, maintaining professional network and participating in educational opportunities.
  • Engage in personal development by recording goals and timelines established by you and your manager.
  • Represent the company at tradeshows, association meetings and business functions.
  • Active participation in the S&IOP process measured by defined accuracy target.
  • Complete and submit commercial reports on time.
