Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college degree or university
  • 1 - 2 years of experience managing projects and/or clients in communications, public relations, journalism, public policy, advertising or a related field
  • Proven success in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects at once
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience and/or interest in health, social justice, reproductive health, environment or other progressive policy issue

Responsibilities

  • Provide client service support by attending internal and client meetings and Teams calls, meeting deadlines, troubleshooting problems, drafting and updating status reports, and responding to staff, client requests and questions in a timely manner.
  • Write, edit and proofread written materials and creative collateral including but not limited to press materials, strategy memorandums, blog posts, web pages/sites, videos, advertising elements and/or general client and agency correspondence.
  • Collaborates with an integrated communications team to understand client goals and develop relevant and effective advertising and communication strategies for communities of color, particularly for Black/African American and Hispanic/Latino/a/x audiences.
  • Track, analyze and report on account-related news, coverage, research and online conversation.
  • Execute media relations efforts including media list development and pitching, and develop strong ongoing relationships with journalists, reporters and bloggers.
  • Assist in coordinating media, client and agency events, including identifying and securing venues; working with creative team to develop marketing and collateral materials such as signage, handouts, and other branded materials; coordinating with internal departments on additional logistics such as media placement, event production and webcasting.
  • Analyze campaign metrics and implements public engagement and social media tools.
  • Contribute to and implements media strategies as directed by senior staff.
  • Facilitate account billing.
