About The Position

theSkimm is looking for a high-performing Account Executive to drive revenue growth within the pharmaceutical and healthcare category. This role will focus on building strategic partnerships with pharma brands and their agencies, leveraging theSkimm’s trusted voice, premium editorial environments, and the Everyday Health Group Newsletter Suite across the broader ecosystem. You will be responsible for generating new business, growing existing accounts, and positioning theSkimm as a differentiated partner for reaching an engaged, influential audience of women.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years years of digital media sales experience, with a strong focus on pharma/healthcare
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets
  • Deep relationships with pharma brands and agencies (e.g. media, DTC, HCP marketing teams)
  • Strong understanding of regulated category dynamics, including MLR review processes
  • Experience selling custom content and integrated programs
  • Ability to navigate complex organizations and long sales cycles
  • Highly collaborative, strategic thinker with strong communication skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Responsibilities

  • Own and grow a book of business across pharmaceutical and healthcare clients and agencies
  • Prospect and develop new relationships with key decision-makers across brand and agency partners
  • Lead the full sales cycle—from outreach and RFP response to negotiation and close
  • Collaborate with Integrated Marketing (Brand Strategy) to develop custom, insight-driven programs that align with client objectives and regulatory considerations
  • Partner with pre- and post-sale teams to ensure seamless execution and strong client satisfaction
  • Leverage Everyday Health Group capabilities and the Newsletter Suite to enhance proposals and drive incremental revenue
  • Maintain accurate pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting in CRM tools (e.g. Boostr)
  • Stay informed on pharma marketing trends, compliance requirements, and competitive landscape
