About The Position

The Account Executive IV is responsible for driving enterprise revenue growth through the sale of Vertex tax technology solutions to both new and existing clients across the Northeast United States. This role is ideal for a seasoned enterprise SaaS seller with a proven track record of exceeding quota with a modern, AI-driven mindset. You are a true hunter who creates opportunities, navigates complex organizations, and consistently wins new business. You will engage senior stakeholders across Finance, Tax, and IT, positioning Vertex as a strategic partner for transformation, compliance, and operational efficiency. Success in this role requires curiosity, resilience, and a results-oriented mindset.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of enterprise B2B SaaS sales experience, consistently exceeding multi-million-dollar quotas
  • Experience selling into Finance, Tax, or ERP-driven environments (tax, compliance, or financial software strongly preferred)
  • Strong understanding of ERP, POS, and eCommerce ecosystems
  • Proven ability to close complex, enterprise-level deals with multiple stakeholders
  • Hunter mentality with a consultative, value-based sales approach
  • Comfort operating in an AI-driven, evolving technology landscape
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and executive presence
  • Strong territory planning, pipeline management, and forecasting discipline

Responsibilities

  • Drive new business by identifying, engaging, and closing enterprise accounts within the assigned territory
  • Manage complex, multi‑stakeholder sales cycles including executive presentations, negotiations, and contract closure
  • Partner with prospects and customers to build compelling business cases and ROI for tax technology investments
  • Consistently achieve or exceed annual revenue targets (>$3M quota)
  • Develop and execute strategic territory and account plans aligned with company growth objectives
  • Work closely with marketing, SDRs, and Customer Success teams to ensure seamless onboarding and long-term client satisfaction
  • Clearly articulate and demonstrate the enterprise value of Vertex solutions to Finance, Tax, and IT leaders
  • Maintain accurate pipeline management, forecasting, and opportunity tracking within CRM tools (MEDDPICC proficiency preferred)
  • Build and leverage relationships with alliance partners, system integrators, and internal stakeholders
