About The Position

We're looking for a strategic and passionate Account Director to lead social media efforts for Motorsports Racing on an automotive client account. This role is critical in guiding the day-to-day client relationship, driving content excellence, and ensuring seamless coordination across teams to deliver bold, data-driven social strategies and content that supports the brand's marketing efforts for Motorsports Racing. The Account Director will partner closely with key team members of the cross-functional team to spearhead the execution of brand directives -- including live racing event attendance and coverage during Motorsports competition season, real-time monitoring of weekend racing events, and development of social content to report on race results and brand moments. Working on this client account's social media is exciting, fast-paced, and always-evolving, so we are looking for individuals who are passionate about social and/or automotive and ideally Motorsports racing who can jump in to make an immediate impact on our day-to-day client work.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of account management experience in an agency setting.
  • Knowledge of motorsports racing and automotive industry preferred.
  • Proven expertise in managing social media programs for large-scale brands.
  • Ability to maintain Thursday through Monday work schedule.
  • ​Ability to travel to provide live coverage of weekend racing events for a minimum of 1-2 events per quarter with overnight stays required.
  • Exceptional client service skills with a calm, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Strong understanding of social platform best practices, trends, and analytics (Meta, X, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn).
  • Adept at juggling multiple complex projects with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator who can lead presentations and cross-functional meetings.
  • Team player with a collaborative spirit and entrepreneurial energy.
  • Familiarity with asset specs, usage rights, and versioning across social platforms.

  • Knowledge of motorsports racing and automotive industry preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for the client's social media initiatives for brand sponsorship of Motorsports Racing including monitoring of key races and development of real-time social content to report on key racing events, brand moments and larger onsite activations.
  • Lead day-to-day communications through meeting scheduling, feedback trackers, meeting notes, status documents, QA and other topics under account leadership.
  • Review all deliverables for brand & strategic alignment, through all rounds of client feedback.
  • Translate brand goals and business objectives into smart campaign specific strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Strategy, Creative, and Media teams to ensure cohesive, audience-first campaigns.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for growth, innovation, and improvement across social touchpoints.
  • Responsible for preparing and responding to day-to-day client communication/responses on behalf of internal team.
  • Manage smaller day to day client escalations.
  • Ensures exceptional delivery of tactics to form/reinforce client rapport (e.g. partner with Delivery, team follow through, reports, meetings, timelines).
  • Manage all social workstreams for Motorsports Racing events with clarity, efficiency, and accountability.
  • Oversee timelines, approvals, and deliverables across campaigns and evergreen content.
  • Serve as the connective tissue across strategy, creative, paid media, production, analytics, and community management.
  • Attend Motorsports races with an onsite team to provide live event coverage for race weekends during competition season and support the development of real-time social content reporting on live events.
  • Monitor racing events not in attendance to support content creation to report on race outcomes.
  • Partner with Content Creator and creative and production teams to ensure content meets brand standards, production timelines, and budget requirements.
  • Ensure content is optimized for platform specifications and usage across paid, organic, and owned channels.
  • Anticipate and troubleshoot production challenges, maintaining agility in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ensure high-quality, on-brand content is delivered for each vehicle nameplate.
  • Partner with analytics and media teams to review performance and optimize future efforts.
  • Provide regular reporting insights to clients, distilling social KPIs into actionable recommendations.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal and external partners, including media, production and global teams.
  • Help guide social activations that integrate with broader brand campaigns and product launches.
