About The Position

Pine Technical and Community College is hiring for an Account Clerk. This position performs all college‑wide accounts payable transactions and processes accurately and in compliance with campus, Minnesota State, and federal regulations. It ensures timely payment processing, campus receipting, and employee reimbursements while providing cashiering functions for both the Campus Store and Business Services. The role delivers responsive customer service to students, staff, and vendors, maintains financial records with integrity, and supports Business Services and Campus Store operations to promote efficient, compliant, and accountable campus financial management The position is based on the Pine City campus.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of accounts receivable and computerized billing systems sufficient to enter and access information, and identify and correct errors
  • Skill in accounting sufficient to reconcile differences between invoices, receipts and purchase orders, and assess needs based on data and events affecting the account
  • Skill in customer service sufficient to provide prompt and accurate information to customers in person, on the phone, and through email and other written or electronic correspondence
  • Ability to accurately input, verify, and edit electronic data
  • Ability to calculate and verify totals on reports, forms, requisitions, or bills, using a calculator, computer, and/or other tools
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information received in compliance with internal policies, directives and State of Minnesota data privacy regulations
  • Use a keyboard for extended periods of time which may include repetitive motion
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing 25-30 pounds on an occasional basis or while unpacking, packing and delivering items.

Nice To Haves

  • Two-year accounting degree or 5+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of laws, policies, and procedures of Minnesota State and State of Minnesota.
  • Ability to handle high volume cash transactions (count cash, make change, etc.) sufficient to process cashier transactions.
  • Skill in data entry sufficient to receive and review documents, compare documents to database information, edit, code and correct documents. Working knowledge of ISRS or equivalent data management system.
