About The Position

This Access Coordinator III works under supervision to function as a patient resource for all scheduling and billing questions and to facilitate comprehensive patient data collections, timely and accurate billing, prompt collections of payment for services rendered, facilitates scheduling coordination and conflicts. This position must be able to perform all duties of the Access Coordinator I & II level and performs other duties to support the patient care activities as needed.

Requirements

  • High School, GED, or formal educational equivalent
  • Three (3) years of customer service experience preferably in registration, billing, or scheduling in a healthcare environment
  • Good communication skills
  • Basic proficiency with computers (preferably MS Office)
  • Excellent telephone etiquette skills
  • General knowledge of office machines including printers and scanners
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • CHAA Certification
  • Call center experience
  • Experience in registration, billing, or scheduling in a healthcare environment
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology

Responsibilities

  • Function as a patient resource for all scheduling and billing questions
  • Facilitate comprehensive patient data collections
  • Ensure timely and accurate billing
  • Ensure prompt collections of payment for services rendered
  • Facilitate scheduling coordination and conflicts
  • Perform all duties of the Access Coordinator I & II level
  • Perform other duties to support the patient care activities as needed
  • Collect and post payments and issue receipts
  • Reconcile daily deposit and batch dollars
  • Counsel patients on any and all related financial information
  • Conduct insurance verification and benefits explanation by running eligibility on patients
  • Request outside records and gather outside medical records from referrals
  • File patient charts as needed
  • Conduct authorizations and pre-certifications
  • Track pre-authorizations
  • Maintain referrals
  • Ensure adequate stock of supplies
  • Clean and maintain equipment and waiting rooms
