The primary purpose of this position is to answer incoming calls into the center calls and return calls of patients that left a voicemail. Obtain patient date of birth to search for correct patient, verify address and phone number (update as needed). Schedule appointments as requested for the patient. Transfer calls to the appropriate locations as requested. Return voicemail calls, create staff messages for unsuccessful call backs, nursing messages, and referral messages. Additionally, this position is responsible to complete work queues in a timely manner. Quarterly completion of recalls for Well Child appointments. Also, this position is required to back up front desk duties to ensure coverage. Other duties as assigned. Front Desk Duties: Sign in and check in every patient as Arrived in Epic, maintain timely patient flow through clinic, verify insurance information via Epic or websites, interview patients and key patient demographic information via the phone or patients presenting at the clinic, obtain updated Benefit assignment and consent forms annually, provide Share and Proxy forms for signature, ensure insurance is active and we are the PCP e. Complete MSPQ as prompted, take payments on accounts as required, check patient account balances when requested, balance daily cash drawer and prepare deposit, complete all assigned Workqueues

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) years of customer service experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Telephone Etiquette
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in Epic and other healthcare software.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of insurance verifications and billing procedures

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls and return patient voicemails promptly.
  • Obtain and verify patient demographics, including date of birth, address, and phone number.
  • Schedule patient appointments as requested.
  • Transfer calls to appropriate departments.
  • Manage work queues efficiently.
  • Complete quarterly recalls for Well Child appointments.
  • Backup front desk duties to ensure continuous coverage.
  • Verify insurance and update patient information.
  • Collect payments and balance cash drawer.
  • Prepare deposits and manage daily transactions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
