ACBN Network Administrators operate, maintain and monitor ACBN and MPE communications networks. They configure routers and switches, and firewalls for LAN and WAN systems and VPN concentrators with appropriate network engineering and communications protocols. They coordinate LAN/WAN hardware/software improvements and/or enhancements. ACBN Network Administrators provide support for cryptographic devices under Government purview, to include monitor, manage, upgrade and rekey devices that fall under the U-A/A6 MPE program. Provide network infrastructure support (technical control), including, but not limited to: Point-to-point installs and maintenance. Long-haul circuit management and operations. Loading circuit encryption equipment. Managing any network cable patching that may be required. Cyber Transport: Responsible for voice, video, and data transport systems within the boundary. Operate, maintain, and configure routers/switches/voice systems/VoIP/video bridges, Information Transfer Nodes (ITNs), communications closet wiring. Maintain Network Encryption devices. Operate, maintain, install, align, repair, key, and remove routers, crypto, switches, and modems. Responsible for LAN line activation and troubleshooting from the wiring closet or communication node to the end user device on existing cable. Network Administration Support: Deploy, configure, maintain, and monitor active data network or converged infrastructure environments and related network equipment. Manage and maintain the Wide Area Network (WAN)/LAN infrastructure. Provide support in the deployment and configuration of comprehensive routing and switching network designs. Monitor network issues and outages in accordance with directives and guidelines. Troubleshoot, implement, and provide configuration of network hardware and software. Monitor, maintain and troubleshoot network devices. Analyze functional problems and determine techniques/requirements feasible for expedited solutions. Apply best practices in compliance with DISA guidelines. Utilize network management tools (i.e., SolarWinds) to monitor, evaluate, and report health statistics of WAN/LAN. Provide technical support to troubleshoot and resolve network outages as needed. ASIs & Outages Submit ASIs in accordance with SPIN-C and local organizational requirements. Notify all potentially affected customers of planned network outages. Respond to outages during and after duty hours. Coordinate with appropriate higher-level organizations. Document issues, fix actions, and provide an update to the MCCC once the outage has been resolved.
