About The Position

Implement programs and initiatives to facilitate student success via tutoring or classroom support. Provide one-on-one or small-group tutoring. Primary responsibilities include tutoring students in the Reading and Writing courses, collaborating with faculty, tutoring services and various student support services at TCC, and serving as a point of contact in the writing center.

Requirements

• Require Bachelor's degree in English or a related field.
• 1 year Experience in tutoring or academic support in English or higher education related field.

Nice To Haves

• Certification in tutor training programs such as ITTPC College Reading and Learning Association or National Tutoring Association.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring to TCC students.
• Conduct reading and writing presentations and orientations to various TCC courses.
• Track and evaluate data on students served by the Writing/Reading Center, assess the center's progress in meeting goals, and contribute to improvement by identifying actionable insights from collected data.
• Facilitate student success strategies in Reading, Writing, English and other various courses through embedded classroom support.
• Manage day-to-day front desk and tutoring coverage of part-time in the world language lab.
