About The Position

Working closely with the Office of Graduate Studies, the Academic Services and Student Experience Coordinator for the Education Department guides and recruits program candidates from entry to completion. In addition, this position manages all the necessary support logistics associated with dissertation, graduate teaching and administrative licensure. This position plays a role with curricular design and reporting, and may teach or co-teach some graduate sections at the Master's of Science in Applied Leadership (MSAL) level. They provide high level program support for a growing program, and work closely with the academic program specialist, who also serves as our certification officer.

Requirements

  • Master's degree by start of appointment
  • Experience with customer service-focused programming and continuous improvement
  • Experience using technology and software applications such Workforce, SIS etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to promote Education graduate programs and develop online resources

Nice To Haves

  • Terminal Degree (EdD, PhD, other)
  • PK-12 teacher or administrative licensure
  • Experience with all aspects of technology
  • Bilingual preferred; specifically Spanish, Hmong, Somali, or Oneida

Responsibilities

  • Counsels prospective and admitted graduate students on educational planning and career opportunities
  • Support curriculum design and may teach or co-teach graduate sections at the MSAL level
  • Manages response, support, and advocacy for EDUC graduate students while continuously improving the student experience and overall program design and delivery
  • Provide logistical support related to culminating projects and dissertations
  • Identifies, promotes, and maintains internal and external partnerships focusing on outreach, recruitment, and admission
  • Delivers directed Education program messaging to internal and external audiences
  • Provides comprehensive advising services promoting Education graduate student success, retention, and degree completion.
  • Monitors degree progress and assists Education graduate students in navigating resources and systems throughout the student lifecycle from matriculation to degree completion
  • Reviews, evaluates, and responds to student applications for admission to a graduate program according to established policies and procedures
  • Assist with the management of growing enrollment in the MSAL and EdD programs
  • Identifies opportunities for and develops admissions, retention, and outreach events
  • Schedules logistics and secures resources for events to promote the Institution
  • Coordinates programming, services, and events to promote professional development and academic success, working directly with the office of graduate studies
  • Evaluates program effectiveness and provides recommendations for improvement
  • Develop and deliver departmental policy
  • Supports data and reporting needs for the program
  • Maintains compliance with graduate program(s), school/college, and university requirements and technology systems related to admissions, assessment, academic degree progress/requirements, and program review
  • Creates targeted communication plans and materials based on established goals
