About The Position

The Academic Researcher is a leadership position that reports to the Assistant VP of Academic Research & Grants. This position is responsible for leading research that enables the institution to gather information for student learning assessment processes, curricular revisions, program accreditations, and faculty development.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Education, Psychology, or related field from an accredited and recognized institution.
  • Five (5) years of experience in similar functions, including staff supervision and experience in proposal writing and negotiation.
  • Result-oriented and driven by academic and institutional goals.
  • Efficiency and service excellence-oriented.
  • Insight into the organization and dynamics of an institution of higher education.
  • Comprehension of the philosophical framework of the lifelong learning concept.
  • Understanding and expertise in Quality Matters standards.
  • Teamwork, assertive communication, and decision-making skills.
  • High level of proficiency with specialized software and tools.
  • Innovative vision.
  • Mastery of oral and written expression in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Design and propose strategic research aligned with the university's and the Provost's strategic priorities.
  • Plan and conduct research using diverse methodologies and data-gathering techniques.
  • Collaborate with the Academic & Student Affairs in designing and implementing the learning assessment and faculty evaluation process. Analyzes its results to formulate strategic recommendations for curricular innovation and faculty development.
  • Collect, record, and analyze quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Interpret data analysis results and develop inferences and conclusions.
  • Present research results to the institution staff, faculty, and students.
  • Use research results to write reports for internal and external groups.
  • Collaborate with the Pedagogical Innovation Senior Manager, the Deans, and the Assistant VP for Academic Research & Grants and for Curricular Design in curricular reviews, program accreditations, faculty development, and student learning assessment.
  • Use of software for quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
