About The Position

The Academic Coordinator is a core member of the interdisciplinary team, reporting to the Academic Director. This role is responsible in supporting our Academic Director with organizing and managing the academic program, supporting classroom structure, and ensuring that each student receives the educational support they need. The Academic Coordinator collaborates closely with therapists, teachers, and families to align academic goals with therapeutic objectives. At New Haven, we go beyond the conventional residential treatment model. Located in the tranquil surroundings of Spanish Fork, Utah, our campus serves as both a treatment center and a nurturing home for adolescent girls aged 14 to 18 and their families. We specialize in addressing complex issues such as traumatic stress, family dynamics, and mental health nuances, providing comprehensive and compassionate care.

Requirements

  • 21+ years of age or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent G.E.D required; associates or bachelor's in education related field a plus, but not a requirement!
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen in concordance with Montana state laws
  • Ability to pass federal and state background checks
  • Current Utah driver's license or ability to obtain a Utah driver’s license upon hire
  • Ability to perform CPR and First Aid
  • Ability to apply provided training in safe verbal de-escalation and physical intervention with an upset or combative client

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred - one year of experience working with adolescent populations and education experience

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate daily academic engagement and provide individualized support or tutoring as needed.
  • Maintain classroom organization and ensure a structured, supportive learning environment.
  • Request and manage student records and transcripts; ensure timely access to academic materials.
  • Collaborate with therapists, teachers, and residential staff to align academic plans with therapeutic goals.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and participate in treatment team meetings to support student progress.
