About The Position

CTEi is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Tutor to provide targeted support to our students, helping them excel across academic and shop skills domains. This role is crucial in assisting students to overcome learning barriers, manage behavioral challenges, and realize their full potential within their technical and academic studies.

Requirements

• Proven experience tutoring or mentoring high school students, preferably in an integrated academic and technical environment.
• Strong knowledge of academic subjects relevant to the CTEi curriculum.
• Demonstrated ability to connect with students and build positive, supportive relationships.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with various vocational or trade skills is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Academic Support: Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring in core academic subjects (e.g., Math, English, Science) as they relate to the CTEi curriculum.
• Shop Skills Assistance: Work alongside shop instructors to provide hands-on, practical assistance and remediation in various shop skill areas, ensuring students grasp technical concepts and safety protocols.
• Progress Monitoring: Track student progress, provide regular feedback to teachers and administrators, and adjust tutoring strategies based on student needs.
• Collaboration: Work closely with CTEi teachers, deans, and support staff to ensure a consistent and integrated approach to student development.
