About The Position

This position is responsible for the comprehensive technical support of all technology within classrooms, labs, and shared spaces, including conference rooms and large lecture halls with enhanced audio and video capabilities. The specialist will ensure the reliability, security, and functionality of these critical academic and event resources through expert installation, integration, configuration, and support of all hardware (AV and computer) and software components. This role provides hands-on, expert-level support for a wide range of integrated technologies, serves as the application administrator for specialized classroom SaaS applications, enforces security policies, and manages the lifecycle of all systems within these spaces to create a seamless and effective learning and event environment for the university community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of progressive, hands-on experience in supporting integrated academic technology, professional AV systems, or complex enterprise endpoint environments.
  • Professional-level certification in one of the following domains: Endpoint Management (e.g., Apple Certified Support Professional, Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator) or Audio/Visual (e.g., CTS, Extron, Crestron, or Biamp certification).
  • Expert proficiency in the configuration, deployment, and advanced troubleshooting of Windows and macOS operating systems in a networked enterprise environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with endpoint management systems (e.g., JAMF Pro, Tanium, SCCM).
  • Hands-on expertise in the installation, integration, and troubleshooting of modern AV control systems (e.g., Crestron, Extron) and lecture capture/video conferencing technology (e.g., Zoom Rooms, Panopto).

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced certification in both AV (e.g., CTS-D, CTS-I) and Endpoint Management.
  • Direct experience working in an academic technology or higher education environment.
  • Experience serving as a SaaS application administrator for a learning or presentation-focused platform.
  • Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs) as they relate to AV and IT systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct technical support for all computers, including hardware, software, and operating systems (Windows and macOS).
  • Configure, deploy, and maintain the full suite of academic and presentation software.
  • Install, integrate, and support complex AV systems in classrooms, conference rooms, and large lecture halls.
  • Serve as the application administrator for specialized classroom SaaS applications, managing back-end configurations, user access, and vendor relations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues involving the interaction between computers, software, control systems, and integrated AV.
  • Manage and support video conferencing and lecture capture technologies (e.g., Zoom Rooms, Panopto).
  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including system diagrams and signal flows.
