About The Position

Airbus Americas, Inc is looking for a A220 Quality Inspector (2nd Shift) to join our team based in Mobile, AL. The A220 Quality Inspector (2nd Shift) is responsible for the execution and confirmation of quality inspections as part of the production process with an emphasis on the aircraft structure and mechanical systems. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3 years of experience as a Quality Inspector in an aviation company with an emphasis on mechanical and/or structural components and assemblies.
• Knowledge of Quality Management Systems.
• Knowledge of drawing systems, inspection plans, and inspection coordination.
• Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods and tools used in the production line.
• Handling and use of inspection tools of the length measuring techniques (mechanical, optical, electrical)
• Effective verbal and written communication skills. Specifically, in English which is required operating in a multicultural and multifunctional environment.
• Eligible for employment in the US without current or future need for VISA sponsorship

Nice To Haves

• FAA Airframe & Powerplant License including inspection authorization is preferred.
• Previous experience in a mechanic or technician role is highly desirable
• Airline experience is desirable
• A&P License (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Execute technical inspections in the production process of the aircraft in the context of the authorization of manufacturer operation
• Prepare and perform visual, incoming, first article, final inspections during aircraft manufacture for compliance with design specifications, customers and certification requirements.
• Document the technical inspections performed in the multiple production orders SAP-based and the relevant SAL-based IT systems by inspection marks and complete other aircraft documents as well as prepare first article inspection reports.
• Support troubleshooting, Functional Test Procedures(FTPs) and participate in Quality Survey requests.
• Compile all technical data of non-conformance in order to launch the NCMS-based quality discrepancy sheets for the professional assessment in accordance with the manufacturing engineering documentation.
• Document all the results of the technical inspector in the FLEXNET/NCMS/SAP based IT system.
• Attain skills to perform audits of Non-Conformance Rework Orders as part of the Material Review Board (MRB).
• Perform audits/reviews of workbooks to validate PV approval and process adherence.
• Track and maintain components during the Non Conformance process.
• Perform other duties as assigned
