About The Position

The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) is recruiting for an A Repairman - Electro/Mechanic. The A-Repairman-Electro-Mechanic must be qualified to perform the Building Maintenance functions associated with the jobs of electrician, plumber, carpenter, painter, sewer repairman, gardener, mason or others as may be required, operating and maintaining heating plants and other related equipment; and being qualified to inspect, replace, repair, maintain, diagnose and correct conditions and perform other jobs of a similar nature as may be required, with the aid of minimal supervision. This position is located in Baltimore City.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
• Five (5) years of experience in electronics, electricity, mechanics and/or electro-mechanical maintenance.
• Applicants must possess a valid CDL license to operate a motor vehicle in the State of Maryland

• Computer skills highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform Building Maintenance functions associated with the jobs of electrician, plumber, carpenter, painter, sewer repairman, gardener, mason or others as may be required
• Operate and maintain heating plants and other related equipment
• Inspect, replace, repair, maintain, diagnose and correct conditions
• Perform other jobs of a similar nature as may be required, with the aid of minimal supervision
• Adhere to all safety rules, policies, regulations, and personal protective equipment requirements to support a safe and healthy working environment
• Attend and participate in safety meetings and should report hazards, unsafe acts, near misses, injuries, and accidents immediately to the Office of Safety and supervision
• Refrain from willful violations of safety rules and procedures, reckless and negligent behavior, involvement in criminal activities, and the misuse of drugs or alcohol
• May only perform work for which they have the appropriate safety training
