About The Position

As an A&P Mechanic II, you will independently perform routine maintenance and inspections on aircraft. You will ensure all tasks comply with aviation regulations and will assist in more complex repairs under guidance. This position will be working stateside at the Cannon AFB in New Mexico and will be deployed overseas on a rotation basis. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
1+ years of relevant experience.
Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification with no prior FAA violations.
Must pass, written, oral and practical assessments.
Must have reliable transportation to and from work locations.
Basic understanding of applicable technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications.
Ability to meet current DoD and Combatant Command requirements for deployed locations.
This position may require deployment for a period of up to 90 days, depending on mission needs.
Deployment is not guaranteed and will be determined at the discretion of the supervisor or management, or as otherwise specified.
Successfully pass a pre-deployment medical assessment.
Must be willing and able to work extended hours, holidays and shift schedules as required.
Ability to obtain a current/ valid passport and be able to obtain a visa to travel internationally.
A United States Government Security Clearance is required for employment.
Applicants who do not currently have a USG security clearance are welcome to apply and, if selected, will be processed for a USG security clearance by SNC prior to employment.
Employment will begin once the USG security clearance is granted.
If applicant is unable to obtain USG security clearance, the offer of employment will be withdrawn.
This position requires current/active Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment.
Non-U.S. Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

Associate's degree in Aviation Maintenance or related field.
Specific experience with certain aircraft models.
Problem-solving and analytical skills.
FAA repair station and/or Quality Assurance experience.
Able to travel on a regular basis and/or work different shifts including overtime and weekends.
Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulation/Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (FAR/DFARS).
Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.
