About The Position

The music teacher must direct and manage the overall program of music for the middle and high schools. Provide students with an opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities and ensure compliance with all state and district requirements.

Requirements

Must hold or be eligible to receive a valid Arkansas Teaching License with Grades 7-12 Certification in Music
Willing to organize and carryout performances both during and after school hours

Nice To Haves

Experience in the secondary grades is preferred

Responsibilities

Direct school music programs
Provide for school choir participation at extracurricular events, including concerts, special events such as Christmas and spring concerts
Compile budgets and cost estimates based on documented program needs.
Coordinate activities and manage funds.
Maintain a current inventory of all fixed assets within the department.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Abide by state statues, code of ethics , school board policies and regulations
Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators and supervisors
Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulations.
Remain current on instructional practices in education. (e.g. instructional technology)
