About The Position

Carries out the supervisory responsibilities for the Count personnel in accordance with the Shooting Star Casino rules and regulations, policies and procedures in the absence of the supervisor. Responsibilities include coordinating the training process for employees, planning, assigning, and directing work. Appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and the problem resolution process. Responsible for the drop collection of all bill acceptors. Responsible for the transfer of money to soft count. Counts all currency and coupons from the Blackjack boxes, Poker Boxes, Class II Bingo boxes, and Bill Acceptors. Works with the CDS system to provide an audit trail for the daily currency and coupon intake. Clips and straps currency, initials straps for tracking purpose. Ensures that all paperwork is completed, signed off on, and submitted to the gaming auditor(s). Ensures that all report totals agree with physical count of currency and coupons. Facilitates the transfer of all negotiable items to the vault ensuring the information is included to substantiate the bank deposit. Ensures that the security measures are adhered to for the Count team and room. Maintains confidentiality regarding all aspects of the Shooting Star Casino. Adhere to all Internal Control Policies and Procedures, Department Policy and Procedure, and Safety Policy and Procedure. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); or minimum of two-month related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must meet the requirements as prescribed by the Tribal-State compact for Gaming.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of guests or other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Should have a basic knowledge of computers.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to handle American and Canadian currency, coupons, and/or blackjack chips with mathematical proficiency.
