About The Position

The Production Shift Supervisor plays a critical role in the success of the manufacturing organization by maintaining and continuously improving in all aspects of the production process. This includes a focus on Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Employee engagement. The role sets the tone and expectations for the front-line leads and machine operators in critical operating fundamentals such as Safety, Quality and Productivity while engaging in good clear communication with key support areas including Production management, Maintenance, Quality Assurance and others.

Requirements

  • 5 years of manufacturing supervision experience.
  • Strong mathematic skills including a good understanding of data analysis / statistical analysis.
  • General familiarity with the purpose and functions of an ERP system.
  • Ability to supervise up to 50 employees in a complex manufacturing environment with multiple products and processes.
  • Maintaining good communication with both fellow leaders and the manufacturing leadership team.
  • Good computer skills including but not limited to MS Office. (Excel, Word, Visio, Project)
  • Solid understanding of BOM structures, and routings.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing methods and processes is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of operating within the ISO 9001:2015 standard requirements is a plus.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a primary focus on Safety throughout the manufacturing organization.
  • Follow all Quality guidelines and processes to maintain complete compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards, company standards, and customer specific requirements.
  • Maintain focus on efficiency and productivity to meet established daily / weekly target levels set forth by sales demand and supply chain / planning group.
  • Maintain a high level of open communication with leaders of other areas including production manager, engineering, planning, supply chain, QA, maintenance, People operations (HR) and others.
  • Promote the culture of the company including the core values of Integrity, Collaboration, Courage, and Innovation with employees at every level.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment at all times.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through timely transacting of production related data through direct reports.
  • Promote and maintain an environment that has a focus on the Continuous Improvement of existing processes.
  • Utilize Lean Manufacturing principles such as 6-s, SMED, and others as the preferred method of organized maintenance and improvement of the overall manufacturing operation.
  • Promote the proper use and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
