This position reports to: Production Manager __ Your responsibilities in this role will include safety, quality assurance, customer service, human resource management, profit and loss, budget maintenance, continuous improvement and corporate policy adherence. You will be responsible for maintaining an effective interactive dialogue with Manager and all support departments such as Human Resources, Quality, Engineering, Process Engineering, Maintenance and Tool Room. This position is located in Ormond Beach, FL. The work schedule for this role will be 5 days a week onsite and the shift will be 3rd shift.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or a combination of equivalent education and/or experience, preferably in a related industry or industrial environment.
  • 3+ years of experience as a supervisor in an industrial/warehouse environment
  • Must be flexible and able to work other shift hours as necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of manufacturing systems such as SAP and Kronos is preferred
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement processes such as Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing

Responsibilities

  • Manage safety messaging delivered at shift start meetings
  • Document and report on all Safety incidents driving efforts to eliminate risk
  • Initiate a thorough investigation for all incidents, whether an injury or near miss occurred and properly distribute this information to all managers and supervisors
  • Ensure that all processes have Job Hazard Analysis, and that all operators have trained and signed the document
  • Ensure that all safety training is completed in a timely manner
  • Facilitate adherence to quality plan
  • Perform a prompt root cause analysis and corrective action plan for all Non-conforming Product Reports written for department
  • Design a prompt corrective action plan for customer complaints, which includes properly using the customer complaint data log
  • create a departmental culture that values customer satisfaction
  • cultivate an effective relationship with planners and other supervisors utilizing data tools available, ensure on schedule delivery of orders in the department
  • answer all expedites within 24 hours, ensure that pertinent planners and leadership are kept up to date on expedites
  • manage department past due orders to drive timely recover to late deliveries
  • acquire a working knowledge of programs designed for continuous improvement, such as 5S, Statistical Process Control, Kaizen and Six Sigma.
  • Apply this knowledge in a structured process improvement format aimed toward safety, quality, flexibility, and cost improvement.
  • foster participation in the CI programs and Team member empowerment
  • proactively lead Team Member efforts to improve uptime through systemic improvement of the existing process
  • update manager with status of all continuous improvement projects initiated and/or completed in the department timely
