About The Position

Versa Desk is seeking an energetic, strategic leader to join our team as Director of Marketplace. This role requires balancing aggressive marketplace growth with team leadership in a fast-paced, results-driven environment. Ownership, visibility, and hands-on execution are core to success. As a direct-to-consumer brand with in-house and global manufacturing, this role offers broad influence and growth across the business. You will lead marketplace strategy end-to-end across the following platforms: Amazon, Walmart, Target and Sears. Requirements

  • 7-10+ years of experience in marketplace or e-commerce leadership roles
  • A 4-Year Bachelors Degree
  • Proven success scaling revenue on major marketplaces (Amazon experience strongly preferred)
  • Strong understanding of marketplace advertising, analytics, and performance metrics
  • Experience owning P&L and managing budgets
  • Data-driven mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills

  • Experience managing remote teams is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketplace strategy aligned with company growth goals
  • Own marketplace P&L, forecasting, budgeting, and performance reporting
  • Oversee product listings, pricing, promotions, SEO, and conversion optimization across marketplaces
  • Lead paid marketplace advertising strategies (e.g., Amazon PPC), optimizing ROAS, ACoS, and TACoS
  • Manage inventory forecasting, fulfillment strategies, and operational efficiency
  • Analyze marketplace data, trends, and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities
  • Build, lead and mentor the 3P marketplace team across Amazon, Walmart, Target, and emerging channels by setting clear ownership, KPIs, and SOPs; coaching best practices in catalog health, buy box, pricing, and promotions; conducting regular performance reviews; and driving a high-accountability, data-driven culture aligned with cross-functional growth goals.
