About The Position

This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and coordinate advanced 3D design and BIM initiatives across multiple engineering projects. As a 3D Designer Lead/BIM Coordinator, you will be responsible for developing and refining detailed engineering drawings, managing model coordination, and mentoring design team members. You will collaborate closely with engineers, conduct site walkdowns, and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards. Utilizing tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and BIM360, you will streamline design workflows, troubleshoot complex modeling issues, and maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency. This position provides exposure to diverse projects in a fast-paced and collaborative environment, ideal for a detail-oriented professional with leadership and technical expertise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of 3D design engineering experience, or Associates degree with 6+ years, or 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency with 2D and 3D design software including AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks; familiarity with Inventor and Bluebeam is a plus.
  • Extensive experience with 3D space and BIM coordination, including Revit family creation and model integration.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, standards, and codes for the assigned discipline, with awareness of related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing or coordinating teams of engineers/designers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong organizational abilities.
  • Ability to travel 10–15% as required for project and client needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation, modification, and management of detailed engineering drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM tools.
  • Establish Revit project standards, templates, worksets, and phasing strategies while optimizing modeling procedures with software plugins.
  • Conduct internal model reviews, clash detection, and troubleshooting to ensure accuracy, consistency, and cross-disciplinary coordination.
  • Collaborate with engineers and designers to interpret design concepts, provide guidance, and mentor team members.
  • Perform field walkdowns, document findings, and ensure adherence to client and organizational safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain high attention to detail in drafting, reviewing, and verifying project deliverables to meet deadlines and quality standards.
