About The Position

This position is responsible for providing support and giving direction for overall warehouse space utilization and storage process; coordinating warehouse safety practices; waste processing; housekeeping; recycling program; overseeing material Kan Ban systems; inbound/ outbound stacking procedures; material staging processes; overseeing aged inventory; collection/storage of production materials returned to warehouse; cage storage/utilization/security; battery watering maintenance; warehouse, trailer storage of product/equipment; racking safety/utilization and product slotting; and ensuring warehouse performance meets company expectations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent desired
  • Forklift operator experience desired

Responsibilities

  • Safety
  • Provide direction for material handling and stacking as it relates to safety
  • Monitor racking to ensure structural integrity
  • Monitor forklift operator and pedestrian safety compliance
  • Monitor fire protection compliance
  • Monitor dock equipment
  • Responsible for battery watering safety
  • Responsible for warehouse housekeeping
  • Responsible for developing baler operator, forklift operator and scissors lift operator interactive safety training: Task specific Ergonomics Equipment safety Lock out/tag out
  • Accident investigations – drive/assist in accident investigation process to determine root cause, corrective actions and accountability
  • Participation as an Emergency Response Team member
  • Quality
  • Provide direction for warehouse practices as it relates to quality
  • Investigate and report product damage
  • Instruct FLO for stacking requirements for specific orders
  • Monitor FLO compliance to follow load tag instructions:
  • Assist quality in disposition of product
  • Assist quality in identifying poorly packaged units; recommend rework and/or modifications
  • Assist quality in establishing critical check points
  • Production
  • Waste and recycling processing
  • Collection process
  • Shredder/baler processing, PM documentation, maintenance requests
  • Bale weighing and loading
  • Monthly scrap report
  • Kan Ban
  • Establish reorder points by pallet type and recommend PO quantities
  • Coordinate with production reorder points for production materials and recommend PO quantities
  • Location Slotting
  • Establish fixed locations for supplies, pallets, stock items, materials returned from production and certain product types
  • Identify and locate items that require secure locations
  • Manage rack locations and utilization
  • Coordinate with inventory personnel scrapping or retuning of aged inventory
  • Rotate inventory to ensure FIFO
  • Establish and coordinate best utilization for finished goods locations
  • Recommend offsite storage for inbound/outbound materials
  • Staging Area
  • Assist production for daily/hourly planning of staging
  • Direct replenishment activities for staging
  • Communication
  • Communicate all warehouse processes and procedures to LTOs
  • Provide WH Manager feedback when LTO do not comply with processes and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors
