About The Position

As a 21st Century Afterschool Paraprofessional, your role involves collaborating closely with the Afterschool Program Site Coordinator to ensure the successful execution of diverse summer program activities. Whether it's assisting during program sessions, facilitating student engagement, or contributing to the overall program experience, your active involvement is essential.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
• Experience working with at-risk students and the ability to meet the needs of students with diverse learning needs
• Experience in implementing after-school activities for children
• Organized, creative, flexible, and reliable
• Ability to assist in the planning and facilitation of academic enrichment workshops aligned with specific standards/focus in ELA, Mathematics, and Socioemotional Learning
• Ability to work effectively with teachers, support staff, and parents
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills and ability to work with all stakeholders
• Belief in the commitment to increasing personal growth, both academic and social-emotional, to obtain the highest level of achievement for every student
• Applicants must commit to being present for the full duration of the program

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of current education legislation/regulations preferred
• Certified in CPR and First Aid preferred, training will be provided for candidates who don't already possess training
• Preference will be given to staff members currently employed as a paraprofessional in FPS

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the 21st Century Afterschool Program Site Coordinator, support and assist with all afterschool program activities as needed
• Complete pre-/post-SAYO surveys (Survey of Youth Outcomes) as required by the 21st Century Grant
• Assist the site coordinator with a snack, transition times, dismissal, and other duties assigned
• Other duties as assigned
