About The Position

The Workstation Technician at Center School District is responsible for installing, upgrading, and troubleshooting hardware and software across desktops, mobile devices, and peripherals. Supporting over 3,000 devices for 2,500 students, the technician manages network connectivity, printers, equipment inventory, and warranties. This role also aids users with technical issues and cloud-based document solutions, ensuring reliable technology throughout the district’s multiple campuses.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one (1) year work related experience preferred.
  • High School diploma or G.E.D.
  • Knowledge PC hardware and software installation and Windows operating System
  • Active Directory experience with extensive workstation knowledge
  • Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and software support systems
  • Strong written and oral communications and relational skills
  • Following and relaying complex oral and written instructions, policies and procedures
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Multitasking and prioritizing under pressure
  • Work independently
  • Lift up to 50 pounds to shoulder height
  • Climb and work on ladders

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical phone, email, or remote support to user by researching and answering questions, troubleshooting problems, and maintaining workstation and LAN performance
  • Install, upgrade and troubleshoot software problems
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with end user equipment such as interactive display panels, casting and projecting, laptops, tablets, printers and other systems as assigned
  • Support mobile devices such as iPads, Chromebooks, laptops, district cell phones, and other systems as assigned
  • Troubleshoot all other peripheral devices (scanners, desk/office phone)
  • Identify issues and troubleshoot network connectivity, wiring, and accounts
  • Perform other duties as assigned
