Job Overview: You will join the Client Growth Analytics team and will support by pulling, cleaning, analyzing, and visualizing data to help generate insights into client behavior and business performance. This role is ideal for an early-career analytics student who enjoys solving problems, working with data, and learning new analytical tools. You will work closely with analysts and data scientists while gaining exposure to Tableau, Python, and general business analytics practices. The ideal candidate should be local to the San Diego office during the time of the internship and will work on a hybrid schedule.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an Undergraduate degree program in Data Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field with an expected graduation date of December 2026 or May 2027
  • Interest in the financial services industry
  • Basic experience working with data using tools like Excel, SQL, or Python
  • Familiarity with data visualization concepts (Tableau experience preferred but not required)
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate findings clearly in both written and verbal form
  • Offer is contingent upon successful background screening and agreement to be local to San Diego, CA Office
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn new tools
  • Attention to detail when working with datasets
  • Ability to break down ambiguous problems into structured steps
  • Full-time position for 10 weeks in the Summer of 2026; Monday through Friday, working 40 hours a week during business operating hours
  • Dependent on team needs, work locations could be hybrid or in office (San Diego)
  • Interns should plan to participate for the entire program.
  • Program dates: June 1, 2026 - August 7, 2026
  • At this time, for our early career program positions, we’re unable to consider candidates who require sponsorship now or in the future. For other positions, within LPL it will depend on the specific position. You will be responsible for obtaining and providing to LPL the required I-9 documentation as part of our onboarding process. Positions offered are for full-time work at 40 hours per week. Please consult your Designated School Official to confirm your eligibility with your school ability prior to applying.

Responsibilities

  • Pull, clean, and prepare datasets from internal data sources
  • Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends and patterns
  • Create dashboards and visualizations in Tableau
  • Assist in building lightweight Python analyses in Jupyter notebooks (e.g., descriptive statistics, data cleaning, simple models)
  • Document processes, data definitions, and findings for team use
  • Collaborate with team members to support ongoing analytics projects
