About The Position

Public Affairs & Access is a multi-disciplinary organization that includes Access Solutions & Patient Support; Channel & Contract Management; Corporate Communications; External Affairs; Patient Strategy; Policy, Evidence & Access Strategy; and Strategic Business Operations. Our mission is to drive positive change in the healthcare system so that every patient can access our science. We lead the development of meaningful partnerships, forward-looking pricing, contracting and distribution strategies, and proactive policy solutions that advance a more equitable and hopeful future for all of those who need our therapies. This position is based in South San Francisco, CA, On-Site. Engage in a variety of activities, including development of study descriptions, data analysis plans, abstracts and manuscripts Read and synthesize literature regarding a specific disease, medical, or policy intervention Gain hands-on experience in designing, developing and communicating health economic models Apply research methodologies to develop and evaluate data to support evidence needs for our products Manage analyses that provide information on the costs and benefits of medical interventions to support product and market development, reimbursement Assess external landscape and work with internal stakeholders to identify evidence gaps in response to current or proposed policy. Intensive 12-weeks, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship. Program start dates are in May/June (Summer) A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship. Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects. Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.

Requirements

  • Must have attained a Bachelor's Degree (not currently enrolled in a graduate program).
  • Must be pursuing a Master's Degree (enrolled student).
  • Must be pursuing a PhD (enrolled student).
  • PharmD, MPH/MS/PhD; Economics, Epidemiology, Public Health, Public Policy, Health Services Research, Health Outcomes Research, or other related disciplines.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience and coursework in economic modeling, multivariable methods, study design, domestic healthcare systems and public policy

Nice To Haves

  • R,SQL, or Python experience.
