About The Position

Public Affairs & Access is a multi-disciplinary organization that includes Access Solutions & Patient Support; Channel & Contract Management; Corporate Communications; External Affairs; Patient Strategy; Policy, Evidence, & Access Strategy; and Strategic Business Operations. Our mission is to drive positive change in the healthcare system so that every patient can access our science. We lead the development of meaningful partnerships, forward-looking pricing, contracting and distribution strategies, and proactive policy solutions that advance a more equitable and hopeful future for all of those who need our therapies. This position is based in Washington, DC, On-Site. Our Issue Advocacy & Alliances team is looking for an intern to work in Washington D.C. and the states, as we look to educate and engage third party stakeholders, coalitions and alliances. In this role, you will work with the broader government affairs team to gain experience and understanding of our strategic advocacy plans and legislative priorities and will support our development of a local advocacy model.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree
  • Must have attained a Bachelor's degree (recent graduates not currently enrolled in a grad program)
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Attending external stakeholder events including but limited to: patient and provider policy summits, think tank briefings and trade association meetings.
  • Engagement with external stakeholders to understand how key policies impact patients, their organizations and our business
  • Conduct research on external organization policy positions and support External Affairs team projects, events, and other activities as needed
  • Participate in team strategy sessions as we create advocacy plans on our key priorities
