About The Position

The High-Throughput Automation Technologies team is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual to help develop and implement laboratory automation systems & supporting data pipeline solutions for molecular biology, process development, and assay automation workstreams for the development of AAV therapies. This is a unique opportunity to build key strategic capabilities, as PTCG prepares to mature its gene therapy platform and support a growing pipeline. This internship position is located in Philadelphia, on-site. Gain hands-on experience with complex lab automation workflows. Work alongside Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to design and implement complex robotics workflows. Build and optimize data pipelines integrated into robotics platforms to accelerate the decision making process. Collaborate across the organization to implement automation solutions that accelerate the pipeline. Intensive 6 months, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship. Program start dates are in May/June (Summer) A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship. Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects. Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.

Requirements

  • You meet one of the following criteria: Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student). Must have attained a Bachelor's Degree (not currently enrolled in a graduate program). Must be pursuing a Master's Degree (enrolled student).
  • Chemical engineering, bioengineering, biochemistry, biology, data science or other related life science areas.
  • Self-motivated to learn and innovate.
  • Strong organizational skills and detailed documentation abilities.
  • Proficiency in data processing and analysis using tools such as Microsoft Excel with ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Demonstrated strong customer focus and ability to collaborate across disciplines

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in at least one programming language is strongly preferred (e.g. C#, Python, R, Matlab, or Visual Basic).
  • Basic knowledge of laboratory automation hardware and software such as Tecan or Hamilton platforms is a bonus.
  • Knowledge of cell biology is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
