About The Position

We have an excellent summer opportunity for a student who wishes to gain hands-on experience in an interdisciplinary design firm. This paid summer internship will be +/- 12 weeks beginning on June 1, 2026 (some flexibility is available). This position is an opportunity to work with our director of Sustainability, Cost Estimators, and Sustainability Network to develop cost estimating resources to help design teams facilitate conversations around the most cost effective strategies for climate change mitigation and adaptation in the built environment. Application deadline: March 20, 2026Interviews conducted: March 2026Offers extended: April 2026Summer internship dates: June 1, 2026 – Mid-August (With flexibility to start earlier depending on your school schedule) In this role you will: Collect project pricing data on sustainable and resilient strategies from a variety of projects, aggregate and visualize the data to create a cost estimating resource to support design teams in client conversations Collaborate with the Resilience Knowledge Community to use a climate risk assessment tool to compare avoided costs with the investment costs for resilient design strategies. Join leaders in sustainability and resilience in facilitating a firmwide education session

Requirements

  • Undergraduate or graduate student standing in construction administration, construction estimating, facilities management, or other related program
  • Coursework or experience with resilience and/or sustainability preferred (ex: cost estimating for LEED or high performance projects)
  • Knowledge of the AEC industry and construction processes
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Graphic design, data visualization, and related software skills to present data visually
  • Knowledge of online whiteboard tools (i.e. miro)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Self-directed and able to work independently
