Stifel's Public Finance Bridge Program is a selective two-day career exploration and professional development seminar where motivated undergraduate sophomores will gain insight into how Public Finance sits at the intersection of fixed income investment banking and public policy. Selected attendees will participate in both lecture style and interactive programming, as well as networking activities with Stifel bankers. These activities will enable attendees to gain an inside look at the public finance industry overall, as well as what a career at Stifel Public Finance could look like for you. By the end of the program, participants will have a deeper understanding of the integral role that Public Finance plays in our everyday lives, and how Stifel's Public Finance business in particular serves as an industry wide leader. Selected participants will be given priority consideration for our 2027 Public Finance Summer Internship program. This two-day program will be held in our Chicago office on March 19 & March 20. This is an in-person program. Candidates must be able to travel to the program location for the full duration of the program. Please note that Stifel will assume all travel costs for attendees. Interested candidates should submit one PDF document with a resume and a statement of interest, either during the resume or additional attachments submission. Statements of interest should be no longer than 500 words and should cover why the candidate is interested in public finance, what they hope to gain from the program, and why they are interested in Stifel. This is an in-person program. Candidates must be able to travel to the program location for the full duration of the program. Please note that Stifel will assume all travel costs for attendees. Resume must include expected graduation month/year and GPA and should not exceed one page. Resume must be submitted in PDF format. Word documents will not be accepted. Stifel’s Public Finance professionals perform investment banking services for city, state and local government agencies, helping them raise capital to build and maintain essential infrastructure in the communities they serve. From some of the nation’s largest states, cities, convention centers and economic development projects to rural school districts and small towns and nearly everything in between, our municipal banking and underwriting groups work with public and not-for-profit entities to develop and implement financing strategies that allow them to operate and optimize the important work they do. In 2024, for the eleventh consecutive year, Stifel ranked #1 serving as senior or sole manager for negotiated public municipal bond issues, annually pricing more than one in every ten issues in the nation on a Stifel desk. Stifel Public Finance has a full scale national presence, and is comprised of about 250 professionals across 44 offices.

Requirements

Demonstrated interest in both finance and public policy.
Interested in pursuing a career in banking.
Demonstrated track record of achievement in academics and extracurricular activities.
Driven, proactive, and team-oriented.
Exceptional problem solving, analytic, and Microsoft Office skills.
Authorization to work in the U.S.
Pursuing an undergraduate degree with an anticipated graduation date between December 2027 - May 2028.
Minimum GPA of 3.3 or above.
Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
