About The Position

The Paralegal plays a key role in supporting the Firm’s Public Finance Group by coordinating, collaborating, managing, and executing critical tasks. This position requires a self-motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, teamwork environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational and project management skills, interact effectively with clients and team members, and uphold strict confidentiality at all times due to the sensitive nature of the work.   Essential Job Duties:  Provide support for partners with a primary focus on tax-exempt bond financings for K-12 Indiana public schools and Indiana public libraries. Draft and review documents, providing high-level paralegal support from transaction initiation through completion, including any necessary follow-up. Draft and track timetables for multiple transactions. Coordinate closing activities and manage various client communications and logistics. Assist in the gathering of materials and organizing and assembling transcript of proceedings. Collaborate with attorneys, internal legal teams, and clients to understand needs and manage related tasks effectively. Collaborate with attorneys, legal teams, and clients to identify best practices, leverage appropriate resources and vendors, and recommend efficiencies that benefit both clients and the Firm. Foster and maintain positive working relationships with both internal and external clients and colleagues. Manage various projects and matters as assigned by the Public Finance Group. Track and timely enter all work-related time, both billable and non-billable, into the Firm’s timekeeping and/or billing systems in accordance with Firm guidelines. Perform other paralegal duties as assigned from time to time.   Minimum Requirements: High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience in a professional services environment is a plus. Team player who puts clients first. Proven ability to independently manage projects in a high-volume setting. Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while coordinating multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent client service skills, both in person and through phone and email communication, which includes but is not limited to responsiveness, accuracy and professionalism. Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively with a high degree of accuracy. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (intermediate to advanced level). Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a diverse group of professionals. Self-starter with a strong sense of initiative and accountability.
