The Aerospace Corporation is hiring an Undergrad Intern for the Communication Electronics Department (CED) within the Mission Payloads Division (MPD), a world-class engineering and scientific leader in electronics and remote sensing systems.  Position will be full-time and 100% onsite at our office in El Segundo, CA. At the Mission Payloads Division (MPD), we are pioneers in remote sensing systems that guide our country's space enterprise. Intern will work to support our microwave laboratory by performing microwave measurements, modeling, and simulation. We have projects that need your diligent efforts and analytical skills. Requirements

  • Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited college/university program pursuing a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related engineering or physics disciplines.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks outside of university term and ability to return to a degree program full-time after completion of the internship.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB or Python
  • Completed coursework in analog circuit and/or microwave circuit theory.
  • Applied research in analytical, simulation, and/or experimental skills.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
  • Transcripts required.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Must work well in a team environment.
  • Possess organizational, time and project management skills.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and ability to adapt to changing organizational need.
  • Interpersonal skills to coordinate efforts and work with other internal and external organizations.

Nice To Haves

  • GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Active Security Clearance.
  • Efficient practice with design and simulation tools such as ADS, SPICE, OR Microwave Office.
  • Trained experience with laboratory equipment such as Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, OR Oscilloscopes
  • Completed coursework on Radar Design and/or other Microwave Systems
  • Project experience building and measuring analog/microwave circuits.

Responsibilities

  • Perform measurements with microwave instrumentation.
  • Participate in development of instrument data acquisition and control of experimental setups.
  • Analyze microwave circuits.
  • Collaborate onsite with other engineers and technician.
