A Career in Medical & Scientific Affairs Where None of Us Stand Still The North America R&D – US Wellness & Digestive Health Medical & Scientific Affairs team plays a pivotal role in advancing the trusted science behind our leading brands, including Centrum, Emergen-C, Benefiber, TUMS, and Caltrate. We are seeking a passionate and driven graduate nutrition intern to join our dynamic team and help shape the future of consumer health. This internship offers an exceptional opportunity for early-career professionals to gain hands-on experience bridging academic nutrition research, healthcare, and industry applications. You’ll work alongside a multidisciplinary team of scientists, marketers, regulatory experts, legal advisors, and communications professionals to drive impactful innovation & initiatives that support the health and wellness of our consumers. What You’ll Do As an intern in the Medical & Scientific Affairs team, you will play a critical role in supporting evidence-based innovation and communication.

Requirements

  • Graduate-level academic background: Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated (May 2026), from a graduate program (MS, MPH, PhD, or equivalent) in Nutrition/Dietetics, Public Health, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and proactive mindset: Demonstrates initiative, attention to detail, and a growth-oriented approach to learning and problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: Able to effectively present scientific concepts and collaborate across diverse teams.
  • Consumer-focused scientific curiosity: Genuine interest in understanding how nutrition science translates into consumer healthcare solutions and business impact.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior research or internship experience in the food, nutrition, wellness, or health sciences industry is preferred.
  • Holding a Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Scientific Research & Analysis Review, analyze, and synthesize complex scientific literature to inform product development, claims substantiation, educational programs, and communication strategies.
  • Support the design, execution, and analysis of nutrition and dietary supplement studies that drive innovation and evidence-based claims.
  • Contribute to research initiatives addressing public health and wellness topics relevant to our product portfolio.
  • Scientific Communication & Strategy Contribute to the preparation of abstracts, conference presentations, and peer-reviewed publications.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of medical strategies, inclusive of plans on evidence generation, scientific communications, medical education, and expert engagement.
  • Apply an evidence-based approach to support claims development, product messaging, educational content, and research initiatives
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration and Insights Work with Medical, Regulatory, Legal, Marketing, and Safety colleagues to align scientific evidence with business priorities.
  • Collaborate with internal scientists and external experts to evaluate opportunities and inform decision-making.
  • Monitor the competitive landscape and emerging trends in wellness, nutrition, and dietary supplements to inform scientific strategies.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deeply understand consumer needs and behaviors and match them with existing or emerging scientific evidence to inform product innovation, claims, and communication strategies.
