An early talent opportunity in Research and Development where none of us stand still. The Richmond Research and Development Center works on developing new consumer healthcare products across the globe. Our teams are involved in a range of activities from product conceptualization to testing to commercialization. Activities may include formulation development, physical and chemical testing, and scale-up processes. Our team is looking for a summer intern to help further develop our consumer healthcare portfolios. This individual will work closely with the product development or product testing team to strengthen our knowledge of formulations and platforms while being exposed to the product development and testing activities mentioned above. The intern will gain hands-on experience in formulating, manufacturing, and testing.

  • Education required: Graduating from a Bachelor's degree program from the School of Pharmacy at Virginia Commonwealth University.
  • Other requirements: Ability to work on site in a laboratory environment in Richmond, VA.
  • Candidate must be available to work full-time throughout the 12-week internship (Approximately 40 hours/week, Monday - Friday)
  • Must be eligible to work in the US at the time of, and for the duration of employment. Employees will be required to furnish evidence of US work authorization.
  • Applicant must not require future sponsorship for an employment visa status

Responsibilities

  • Support formulation, product development, and/or product evaluation and testing activities under the guidance of a mentor.
  • Conduct laboratory experiments, analyze data, and document findings in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
  • Data analysis and presentation of results.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to project discussions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Formulation, Analytical, Regulatory, and Manufacturing.
  • Deliver all EHS standards and expectations on site and within the laboratories.
  • Ensures work is always conducted following good scientific practice and Good Manufacturing Practice (where required) and maintains precise experimental records.
  • Present project outcomes during end-of-summer presentations.
