About The Position

Overview: Summer Interns complete a 10 week internship centered around professional development, career growth and building the necessary skills to succeed. Summer Interns participate in projects and department initiatives that accelerate career growth and play an important role in building the future of the Bank. As an Intern, you will gain exposure to other departments through guest speakers and industry leaders and a built-in network with peers as well as priority consideration for full time opportunities throughout the Bank. About the Team: Default Internal Services (DIS) supports all business units in Customer Asset Management (CAM) Mortgage with the creation, generation, issuance, and maintenance of default correspondence. DIS acts as the liaison for all business units to ensure compliant communications are issued timely, accurately, and to the appropriate recipients. Letter Governance is a change management process within DIS through which CAM Mortgage complies with all requirements (Federal and State Regulations as well as Investor Guidelines ) of the Customer Communication and Document Change Management Program. What the Intern Will Do: The intern will assist the team by reviewing customer-facing letters to identify areas where content may be difficult for the average reader to understand. Many of these communications include complex guidance and regulatory language. The intern will help flag opportunities to improve clarity and readability. The intern will leverage tools such as Copilot to help simplify messaging while maintaining compliance with investor guidelines, supporting the team’s goal of delivering clear and customer-friendly correspondence.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
  • Minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.0

Responsibilities

  • Complete duties and responsibilities of an entry-level professional nature specific to assigned area of the Bank.
  • Ensure activities adhere to established internal policies and external regulations as applicable.
  • Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite.
  • Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
  • Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis.

  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
