About The Position

Description Of Job Duties · Assist in planning, preparation, and implementation of transition programs such as Placement Testing, Advising & Registration, Orientation Week, and First-Year Experience programs · Support the recruitment and selection of additional student staff to support all the transition programs · Help plan and execute a training program for transition staff · Assist with the evaluation and assessment of the transition programs · Manage emails, data, and schedules for different programs as assigned · Help create and distribute marketing materials · Work collaboratively with all campus partners to support the transition programs · Welcome new students and their families to the North Central College Community · Complete tasks by deadlines as assigned · Serve as a role model/mentor for new students and transition staff · Serve as a point of contact for the transition programs · Present information on campus resources to new students, parents, and transition staff · Maintain a positive environment · Attend all training, Placement Testing, Advising & Registration, and Orientation Week events as assigned · Support transition staff during assigned summer hours · Communicate with off-campus vendors · Work 10-15 mutually agreed-upon hours per week during Spring 2026 semester, approximately 30 hours per week during the summer, and approximately 2-4 hours per week in Fall 2026. This position would also work as needed in Fall 2025 to prepare for spring orientation. Able to serve as a self-motivated leader and to take initiative when appropriate Job Qualifications · Cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.0 and in good judicial standing · Enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student at North Central College in the Spring 2026 Semester and Fall 2026 Semester · Campus leadership experience · Demonstrate knowledge of campus resources or willingness to learn · Prior orientation/transition experience required (at North Central or another school, if transfer student) · May not participate in any Cardinal Destination Courses Abroad (May Term trip)

Requirements

  • Cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.0 and in good judicial standing
  • Enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student at North Central College in the Spring 2026 Semester and Fall 2026 Semester
  • Campus leadership experience
  • Demonstrate knowledge of campus resources or willingness to learn
  • Prior orientation/transition experience required (at North Central or another school, if transfer student)
