About The Position

Saint Joseph School is a parochial school of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, faithful to the Magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church, dedicated to serving children and families by providing a Christ-centered learning environment where children grow in faith, truth, and love. We serve over 1,000 students in grades PK - 8 in Cottleville, Missouri. Our Parish relies on a dedicated team of professionals to educate our students, whether through classroom instruction or support across campus. We are seeking a faith-filled full-time 1st grade teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. Qualified candidates would have a concentration in Elementary Education, degree preferred. Applicants must be certified in Education or willing to pursue certification. Religious certification preferred. Requirements

  • Practicing Catholic preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education required.
  • Valid teaching certification
  • Religious Education Certification preferred or willingness to pursue certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students of varied backgrounds, cultures, and learning needs.
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to Catholic education and the mission of St Joseph Catholic Church, Cottleville.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver instruction in all core subjects
  • Integrate Catholic faith, values, and traditions into daily classroom activities and community life.
  • Use a variety of instructional strategies, assessment tools, and learning supports to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Foster a warm, supportive classroom environment that encourages respect and cooperation.
  • Assess student learning using formative and summative methods; communicate progress regularly with families.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and administration to align curriculum, plan school events, and support student growth.
  • Implement effective classroom management techniques fostering respect, responsibility, and positive behavior.
  • Use technology appropriately to support instruction, communication, and student engagement.
  • Participate in professional development, faith‑formation opportunities, and school community activities.
  • Maintain accurate records, lesson plans, and documentation required by the school and Archdiocese.
