Indeed Resume Builder Review: What It Offers Now

Indeed’s old standalone resume builder is no longer available at its former web address. But that does not mean Indeed stopped offering resume help.

Indeed’s current public pages place resume creation and tailoring inside two broader experiences.

Indeed Profile lets you upload or create a resume alongside your job preferences. Career Scout is an app-based AI career coach that can help customize a resume.

Our verdict: choose Indeed if most of your search happens on Indeed and you want resume tools connected to your profile, job matches, and applications. Choose Teal if you want a dedicated workspace for building multiple targeted resumes and managing applications across your job search.

What happened to the Indeed Resume Builder?

Indeed previously offered a standalone web resume builder at dedicated URLs. Those pages are no longer available, and Indeed’s current Job Seeker Tools page does not list a separate product called “Indeed Resume Builder.”

Resume features now appear inside the broader Indeed experience:

• Indeed Profile: Indeed says you can upload or create a resume, add experience and skills, control profile visibility, and use that information to improve job matches.
• Resume tailoring: Indeed’s Profile page says you can create a custom resume version using keywords and qualifications from a job description.
• Career Scout: Indeed describes Career Scout as an AI job-search product that can customize a resume, provide personalized guidance, recommend jobs, and support interview practice. Indeed directs users to download its app to use Career Scout.
• My jobs: Indeed offers tools for saving jobs and tracking certain applications made through Indeed.

The important distinction is that the old standalone builder is gone, while resume creation and tailoring continue inside Indeed’s profile and app ecosystem.

How we researched this Indeed Resume Builder review

We reviewed Indeed’s current US Job Seeker Tools, Profile, and Career Scout pages on September 11, 2026. We also checked the former standalone builder and career-services routes on September 4, 2026, reviewed the current US search results for “Indeed resume builder,” and compared Indeed’s publicly documented workflow with Teal’s current Resume Builder, Job Tracker, and pricing pages.

We did not sign in to every Indeed account, test every eligibility state, or verify how the workflow appears in every country. Indeed says some tools can vary by location or account eligibility. Product names, features, and availability can change, so verify the current experience before depending on a specific feature.

Is the Indeed Resume Builder free?

Indeed says job seekers can create an account, search for jobs, and apply for jobs for free. Its current Profile page presents resume uploading, creation, and tailoring as part of the Indeed job-seeker experience, not as a separately priced builder.

Career Scout is also available through the Indeed app. Indeed’s current public pages do not show a separate subscription price for its resume builder or resume-tailoring tools, though availability may vary by account, location, or eligibility.

That is different from saying every Indeed career tool is permanently free or available to everyone. Check the feature inside your own account before planning your workflow around it.

Does Indeed still offer a paid Resume Review service?

Indeed’s old paid Resume Review pages and their former service tiers should be treated as retired information. The old career-services routes no longer lead to a public Resume Review purchase page, and Indeed’s current US job-seeker pages do not advertise a current price for that service.

Career Scout now offers AI-powered resume help and personalized job-search guidance. That is not the same product as the former human video review, consultation, or resume-rewrite service.

What Indeed’s current resume workflow looks like

1. Build or update your Indeed Profile

   Add your contact information, work experience, education, skills, certifications, job preferences, and resume. Indeed uses this information to recommend jobs and, when your visibility settings allow it, help employers find you.

2. Upload or create a resume

   Indeed’s Profile page says users can upload or create a resume. Review the finished document and your visibility settings before making it discoverable. A profile and a resume are related, but they are not the same: the profile can also contain job preferences and other information Indeed uses for matching.

3. Tailor the resume for a job

   Indeed says its tools can create a custom resume version using keywords and qualifications from a job description. Career Scout also advertises resume customization. Treat the output as a starting point: confirm that every skill, responsibility, date, and result is accurate before applying.

4. Apply and track what happens

   Apply through Indeed when the role supports it, then use My jobs to track the information Indeed retains for that application. For jobs found elsewhere, keep your own record of the posting, resume version, submission date, status, and follow-up.

• Job seekers can upload or create a resume without purchasing a separate standalone builder.

Is Indeed’s Resume Builder worth it?

Indeed’s current resume tools are worth trying if Indeed is already the center of your job search. Building or uploading a resume there can strengthen your profile, support job matching, and reduce the work required to apply through Indeed. Career Scout may also be useful if you want app-based AI guidance beyond the resume itself.

The tradeoff is focus. Indeed’s resume features live inside a large job platform. If your main goal is to create and manage several targeted resumes, compare each one with a different job description, and track applications from multiple sources, a dedicated job-search workspace may be easier to manage.

Choose Indeed or Teal?

Choose Indeed if:

• You search and apply mainly on Indeed.
• You want your resume connected with your Indeed Profile and job preferences.
• You prefer app-based career guidance through Career Scout.
• You want employers to find your profile and are comfortable managing the visibility settings.

Choose Teal if:

• You want to create and organize multiple resumes for different jobs.
• You want to compare a resume with the language in a specific job description.
• You apply through several job boards and company sites.
• You want saved jobs, application stages, notes, contacts, and follow-ups in one workspace.

Indeed is the more convenient choice inside the Indeed ecosystem. Teal is the stronger fit when resume tailoring is part of a broader, multi-source job search.

A practical workflow for one application

Whichever tool you choose, use the resume as part of a repeatable application process:

1. Save the full job description before it changes or disappears.
2. Duplicate your base resume so you can preserve the original.
3. Identify the experience, skills, and results that genuinely match the role.
4. Rewrite the summary and highest-priority bullets for clarity and relevance without adding qualifications you do not have.
5. Review any AI-generated or suggested language for accuracy and tone.
6. Check the final file for section order, dates, contact information, spacing, links, and selectable text.
7. Submit the requested file type and record the resume version, application date, status, and next follow-up.
