About The Position

The Zone Director at Chips Auto Glass is a crucial member of the senior management team, collaborating closely with the Division Vice President and field management at all levels in the assigned territory, to drive the successful execution of operations ultimately leading to the achievement of our business objectives and long-term success. This role involves overseeing and managing multiple store locations within a specific territory/zone, with a primary focus on optimizing operational efficiency, achieving sales targets, and consistently delivering exceptional customer service while adhering to guiding principles, policies, and procedures to maintain consistency and quality in operations. Key responsibilities also encompass managing staffing needs, including recruitment, training, and development of the team, as well as fostering employee engagement and retention to build a motivated and skilled workforce, conducting performance evaluations for store managers and other assigned team members, enforcing compliance with safety regulations. Furthermore, this position will provide insights and actions to drive business growth, operational excellence, sales, customer satisfaction to attain business goals and ensuring Chips Auto Glass's continued success.

Requirements

  • Ability to foster alignment by cascading key messages down in an actionable way and reporting back on themes and trends in their markets, influencing division strategy.
  • Familiarity with financial management, including budgeting, Profit and Loss statements, and cost control.

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in sales and operations in a geographically dispersed retail, manufacturing, or equivalent environment.
  • Technical proficiency with knowledge of auto glass systems and glass repairs
  • AGRSS Certification, or willingness and ability to obtain the certification within a period of one year.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of store managers, operations managers, supervisors, and technicians to consistently meet profit and sales goals.
  • Provide comprehensive operational support to field locations, ensuring efficient and seamless operations, overseeing all field sales quality and operations activity within the designated territory.
  • Rigorously review reports, ensure meticulous record-keeping, and scrutinize completed work orders to uphold high standards of accuracy and optimizing resource allocation for improved efficiency.
  • Prioritize relationships with associates, customers, fleet managers, rental agencies, and insurance agents alike to stay connected to industry trends and best practices, allowing for adjustments to strategies accordingly.
  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify emerging trends, industry best practices, assess competitor activities, and understand evolving customer preferences, and provide informed guidance to support strategic decision-making.
  • Stay current on competitive activities, making appropriate recommendations regarding pricing, services, and product offerings to ensure Chips Auto Glass remains competitive. Collaborate with field sales to identify and develop new business relationships.
  • Continuously monitor daily, weekly, and monthly performance against sales and operations plans, making necessary adjustments to ensure these plans are met successfully.
  • Partner with the Division VP to develop, communicate, and implement a comprehensive vision for the division, encompassing both short and long-term sales and operations plans in order to expand market share and increase brand awareness effectively.
  • Collaborate closely with the Division Vice President and Field leadership to execute the field operation's people strategy and guide the territory/zone’s operational strategy, ensuring alignment with division and broader company objectives.
  • Take the lead in talent management fundamentals, including selection, onboarding, training, development, and performance management, fostering a highly capable and motivated team. Provide strong leadership and coaching to enable effective team management and performance improvement, while developing comprehensive succession plans and enhancing leadership capabilities within the assigned territory to prepare for future challenges and opportunities.
  • Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities, working to expand the customer base and drive revenue growth.
  • Oversee the Profit and Loss statement for the assigned territory, optimizing revenue while efficiently controlling costs to meet financial targets. Conduct monthly financial reviews with store leaders to maintain transparency.
  • Actively resolve operational issues, continuously monitor key performance indicators, maintain positive associate relations, and drive ongoing enhancements in field operations to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with Tire Discounters leaders to establish standardized best practices, implement the playbook in their zone, and champion change management and adoption in the Field, to expand the customer base for Chip's Auto Glass within
  • Ensure that all leaders in the assigned territory complete monthly quality audits, inspection, installation and ADAS training and certification DOW, AGRSS and National windshield repair are up to date for the assigned territory.
  • Provide support to the Division VP by assisting with special projects, initiatives, programs, or any other tasks as required.
