The Zero Suicide Therapist plays a vital role in advancing WTCG’s commitment to suicide prevention and crisis response across West Texas communities. This position provides compassionate, community-based mental health services to individuals experiencing suicidal ideation, severe depression, and other acute mental health crises, ensuring timely access to high-quality, evidence-informed care. As a core member of the Zero Suicide program, this therapist not only delivers crisis-focused interventions but also helps expand access to ongoing, non-crisis behavioral health services. Responsibilities include providing individual, couples, family, and group psychotherapy, as well as psychoeducation, all within the clinician’s scope of practice. This role supports continuity of care and promotes long-term recovery and resilience among clients. The Zero Suicide Therapist also serves as an ambassador for WTCG’s suicide prevention efforts through active participation in community partnerships, including the Tom Green County LOSS Team and the Concho Valley Suicide Prevention Coalition. Through these collaborations, the therapist contributes to a coordinated, community-wide approach to suicide prevention, postvention, and mental health awareness. WTCG is committed to supporting professional growth by offering no-cost training and clinical supervision for LMSW, LPC-Associate, and LMFT Associate licensees.
