The Zamboni Driver is responsible for maintaining safe, high-quality ice surfaces for skating, hockey, and figure skating programs by operating ice resurfacing equipment and performing routine arena maintenance. This hands-on position part-time position is crucial to the overall success of arena operations and customer satisfaction. Ice Maintenance Operate ice resurfacing equipment (Zamboni or Olympia) to clean and resurface the ice sheet before, during, and after sessions. Monitor ice quality and make adjustments to water levels, blade depth, and edging as needed. Perform edging, shaving, and patching to maintain ice integrity. Maintain logs of resurfacings, ice temps, and equipment maintenance. Facility Operations & Maintenance Perform general maintenance tasks such as cleaning locker rooms, lobbies, restrooms, and player benches. Monitor building systems (lighting, refrigeration, HVAC, and fire alarms) and report issues to management. Assist with snow removal from ice resurfacer bays and outdoor walkways. Support setup and breakdown for events, games, or rentals. Equipment Care Conduct pre- and post-use checks on the ice resurfacer. Clean, refuel, and safely store equipment after each use. Assist with routine maintenance or minor repairs.
