About The Position

Drive/Facility Maintenance Technician - Senior Living Community We are seeking for a reliable and friendly Driver/Facility Maintenance Technician to join our team at a large senior living community in Phoenix, AZ. Come join a team of dedicated, smart, and caring professionals as they work together to care for our seniors and provide them the lifestyle they deserve. Our Driver/Facility Maintenance Technician is in charge of safely transporting residents to appointments and keeping our residents living areas well-kept and serviced to high standards. You should also be able to resolve resident complaint and queries promptly and in a polite manner. You are the right candidate if you are pleasant, detailed oriented and friendly.

Requirements

  • Driving experience with a company vehicle or company bus would be preferred.
  • Desire to serve and help others
  • Clean background and drug free lifestyle
  • Stellar teamwork skills
  • Ability to plan and communicate in both written and spoken English
  • Previous experience of at least 1 year in general maintenance and/or construction
  • Must have a valid driver’s license in the State
  • Must be knowledgeable of maintenance practices and procedures in plumbing, electrical, hvac, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Safely transport senior residents to doctors’ appointments and other places in a timely and disciplined manner.
  • Load and unload wheelchairs and walkers from vehicle.
  • Help residents into cars or non-CDL buses and help residents out to their appointment.
  • Plan and research driving routes for scenic drives.
  • Narrate during the drive, pointing out historic landmarks and vocalizing fun facts and history throughout the drive.
  • Carry out complete pre-trip inspection of vehicle to be used.
  • Keep vehicles clean and vacuumed.
  • Maintain drivers’ logbook.
  • Comply with road traffic law enforcement agency regulations.
  • Adhere to all safety requirements.
  • Assist Maintenance Director in identifying needed repairs or replacements in apartments, rooms, common areas, landscaping, parking areas, etc.
  • Completed work orders from residents and staff
  • Assist with preventative maintenance to refurbish or replace deteriorating items and avoid costly repairs
  • Completes special projects as directed
